Little People’s Projects

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Last night I had a friend come over and show us how to make scarves with these board thingies . . . The boys have been begging me to let them crochet but I don’t have the patience to teach them at this young an age maybe next year.

So for now they can do this . . . and they are satisfied and loving it!

(Hmmm . . . reminds me when I taught my school students how tc crochet)

Projects

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

I love making things . . . they don’t always turn out nice but it’s fun anyway.

All these projects are from scraps . . .

This is my first rug . . . I placed it at the bottom of our basement stairs as a barrier between feet and cold cement floor.

This is my latest project, while I listen to the slow pronunciation of words from my first graders.

I don’t really care for the maroon one . . .

This was last month’s . . . a bean bag. The children have so much fun jumping in it. They climb up a step ladder and plop, they drop!

Dreams

Monday, November 27th, 2006

I dream of . . .

  • a clean organized house ALL the time.
  • playing guitar well enough sing and honor the Lord with to people that come into our home and to the elderly.
  • of leading someone to the Lord
  • of testifying of the Lord’s goodness to many people on a one on one basis that I meet in town or where ever
  • children that answer cheerfully, “Yes, Mama!” ALL the time
  • watching them walk in truth throughout their lives
  • watching them raise their children and train them for the Lord
  • having lots of time with my husband
  • traveling together in our golden years visiting family and friends
  • sharing “Jesus” by meals, cookies, flowers, cards, letters, time, blessings, encouraging chats
  • opportunities to bond with my children
  • having time to quilt
  • a beautiful flower garden
  • getting to heaven and hearing “Well, done, thou good and faithful servant . . .”
  • meeting oh, so many saints in heaven
  • talking with family and friends up there
  • meeting “my little ones” (David, Daisy, Jewel)
  • my marriage with the Lord, of our love relationship there
  • being patient ALL the time
  • having the right thing to say at the tip of my tongue
  • and the courage to say it!
  • being able to go to family gatherings more often without traveling day and night and having the children’s schedule and security all ruffled
  • doing projects with my children (that don’t require me to teach them how to use the scissors or get them dressed for the outdoors before we begin)
  • of going ice skating with them, roller blading, sledding
  • having another daughter
  • all of us being together in heaven (and that includes you)

He’s . . .

God of the mountain . . .

bald-eagle.jpg

and God of the valley . . .
“On eagle’s wings God carries His children . . .”
I felt this in a very real way Saturday night . . .just ask anybody who knows me well and was there at the girls dorm discussion . . . God can do extraordinary things through an ordinary girl . . . I testify to that!

Update on Regan

I’ll just let Japheth explain . . .

Thankfulness . . .

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

I am rejoicing and thanking the Lord that Loraine is going potty now. The “light” just went on all of a sudden!

Jaden is crawling as of Sunday! Praise the Lord for healthy guys!

And Wayne is in between working hard on those teeth! I thank the Lord that he usually isn’t very fussy doing that!

I’m thankful that Japheth is quite busy there at work . . . cause that means there is money coming in to pay the bills.

I’m thankful that Japeth Jr. is making progress in his reading and is able now to read a few books how be it very slow!

And that Jeremiah is getting a start in learning to read. Praise God for bright, clear minds!

I’m thankful that I can start little fires in the cookstove here to take the chill off long wintery days!

I am thankful for the beauty of snow flakes lazily floating down from the gey overcast sky, placing a lovely white sheet over bare dirt and at times coating the trees. I like winter!

I’m thankful for every evening that I see the headlights once again of my dear husband’s car turning in the driveway . . .

I thank the Lord for friends to share heart to heart with, to pray with, for hugs . . .

I thank the Lord for laughter . . . and my husband who keeps me well supplied. (If it doesn’t work other ways, he resorts to tickling!)

I love being able to run over to my in-laws for a short break . . . for them stepping in each day to say hi and ask how my day is going on their way for canned goods or whatever.

I love being able to look out the windows . . . being warm and cozy inside and seeing the children enjoy the outdoors!

I love being able to laugh and play with them, make snowmen, and throw snowballs!

I’m so thankful I have lots of little ones to cuddle!!!

I thank the Lord for the ease it has been to lose weight (so far). I know it will not always be this way and for many people maybe never has. It is a gift You have given me at this time in my life!!!

I’m thankful for the “iron” sharpening in my life . . . I need that.

I thank the Lord that His Spirit can abide in me . . . that I can enjoy the sweet fellowship with God the “New Testament” way.

I am so grateful for forgiveness . . . especially for our Great Just Creator God!, and also from others that I have wronged!

I praise the Lord for so faithful and loving a husband to share life’s joys and sorrows with . . . It is glorious!

I want to say “Thank-You, Lord!” for my roses that bloomed this year . . .ahhhh the fragrance emitted . . . and for the reminder in the song, “Before the roses bloom again, we may be walking the streets of glory, for each season brings me closer to the end . . .”

. . .for the many voices singing praises from each cd that we play, the phrases of encouragement and challenge!!!

God says in everything to give thanks, right? . . . and so I thank him for my messy house, that I am able to function amidst chaos :) (Sometime’s I’m not so sure I can!)

I thank the Lord that fevers go away after awhile . . .  that colds don’t last forever!

. . . that the sun sets every day, and we can rest (as much as moms are allowed at times)
Thank-You, Lord . . .

He Did It Again!

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

He did it again, My God did it! He took this crowd shy girl with a jumbled up mess of thoughts and questions and un-understanding :) and is forming my tongue to spue out the words He would have me say! . . . and to say the least, I’m excited, especially cause I’m not one to spue out words, if you know me you know that!

That’s MY GOD! I challenge you to find any other god who can do that!!!!!!!!!!! Any other god is sooooo unworthy, so inadequate, so frustrating, so vile, so despicable . . .

I praise The One and Only True God!!! His name is WORTHY to be praised. If ya want to hear our talk . . . ya gotta come and if your are a guy . . .  well, you might get a veiled version, maybe.
God is good, full of GLORY and indescribable . . . Oh the half has NEVER yet been told!

Misc.

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Sorry, I haven’t any more news about Regan, we’re still waiting. It’s taking longer to find out because they had to send the tumor to another place . . . But the good news is that the drainage tube is out, she walked a little bit and she doesn’t have to have a stint put in after all!

On to other things . . . Yipee-ya-yeah! I am DONE with canning for this year. Today I take the last jars of pumpkin down to the canning room in our basement! I do not feel like gardening next year! My husband says we will see what happens . . . He knows me too well! Come next spring I will want this and that and soon have lost of stuff growing out there to take care of . . . but I am considering doing just some for fresh eating :) This year was just tooo much with all my little ones, I feel they kinda got neglected a bit in the stress of all the work.

And this Saturday, Heidi, and I get the privilege if that’s what you want to call it to have the girls dorm discussion. I certainly don’t feel like a speaker, but I have to admit I feel God is directing very clearly what He would have us speak on and I am excited about that! Please pray for me as I trust the Lord to supply the pouring fourth of words as it is not a natural thing to speak in front of group! . . . and that my study time would be squeezed in these busy days!

Revivals are also this week, with the minister staying here at our house . . . yes, it is a bit stressful trying to keep the noise down so that he can study, and the toys picked up so that he doesn’t trip and fall (This is a very real concern of mine, somehow I just can’t keep up)

Blessings to ya, as you meet the challenges coming your way!!!

Waiting for Monday

Friday, November 10th, 2006

Surgery went on for about four hours. It was done safely and successfully. Praise the Lord!!! The tumor was bigger than a golf ball, though smaller than a tangerine. So now we wait for Monday to here the big news . . . whether it was malignant or benign.
