Your children will someday be grateful to you. One of my fondest memories is going to Science Museums when we took a vacation (which wasn’t often). Sometimes the things that I remember most were the things that required the most patience from my parents. I’m just remembering that I was going to e-mail you our story sometimes, and I don’t remember whether or not I did? That’s another thing about being a mom–somehow, you just get kind of forgetful. At least there’s something to blame it on!!

I didn’t say I was praying for it. I already am failing|lacking, so I think there is plenty of areas in my life right now to teach me patience with out God heaping more on. When I pray to let His patience come through my life, I just want to pass these “tests” that he’s given me that I’ve been failing. If that makes sense . . .

One thing I have learned is when you pray for patience..You had better be ready, cuz all sorts of stuff comes around that really tries it to the limit.

You just wrote my thoughts. Jon and I were reading it together and I told him, “That is just how I have been feeling!” Like Otto Koning said “I am a good missionary except for the people!” …. “I am a good mother except for my children!” Yes indeed, mothering does show up a lot of things that need purifying.

I remember before we had kids talking to someone about how marriage brings out the worst in you sometimes, and he laughed and said “Well, just wait until you have kids. Then you’ll really find out all the things you need to work on!” Well said indeed…
