For some reason, it is a little stressful to have cell group at our house, too. My dishes are never done from dinner, I am always in the bathroom brushing my teeth when they come and someone seems to be crying and neglected. It is easier to pack everyone up and go away, dishes undone and floors crummy. Weird, I know. I have some really wonderful little helpers, but working on a time schedule is not something we excel in.

A clean house would be a museum! We live in this house! Age does make a little difference. Not so many toys laying around! 5,10,15 or maybe 20 item pick up at
the last minute before Dad comes home or before company arrives does help. Hey if hubby shows up early they know what to expect!

Oh, I absolutely know what you mean! And I like the phrase “mess-less”, it seems like it’s looking on the bright side, despite the dirt in the corners! Yes, I keep telling myself that this season will pass, and then we’ll forget how our houses looked, and instead fondly remember the good times, the childish voices, the enthusiastic play…and wish we had our messy houses back for just a little, to relive those days again…

Houses never “stay that way” no matter how few people live in them or what their age. But it certainly does make a BIG difference when the children are old enough to help to do a lot of the work. It WILL get easier, I promise.
