What Do You Do?

I’d be interested in knowing what kind of exercies you other moms do to TRY to get back in shape.  This is something I procrastinate BIG TIME in . . . and need some challenge, inspiration or maybe some sympathy.   :)

I know it is important . . .  but when I don’t feel like it, it’s easy to think of the verse about bodily exercise profitting  little, but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of life . . . And the day goes by and I’ve “forgotten” (conveniently) to take\make the time for a little exercise!

I like to walk on the treadmill (or in place, moving around some) and listen to the Bible on tape with a headset. It is a double blessing, a walk with God! Music is also a blessing.
I am far from in shape or every day perfect but it is a good goal.
We have recently been made aware how good just standing still can be for you.
Just slightly bend your knees with your feet a shoulders width apart. Try 5-10 min and work your way up.
I guess it goes with the saying that if it is sit or stand? Stand

I am presently using a book by jorge Cruise, called 8 minutes in the morning. It is a strength training program, and I love it! I use 2 handheld weights right now. I started 6 days ago and I have been dropping the pounds (6 lbs. so far) and can already feel the difference. I am so happy, since my normal weight loss, if I work really hard is 1-2 lbs. per week. I have not figured out how to get cardio in (like a good walk/jog/run) so I do it whenever I get a chance-which is so sporadic-ie. when Charlie is available to watch the children. My body is a wreck after 4 babies and I am continually praying that I will not conceive until I regain some ground. (My baby turned 1 this month) charlie thinks that’s a little selfish, but I think God knows my heart. I hate being this fat and out of shape. (Besides, he’s already said he’s really excited about this program I’ve been doing, so there!) The workouts are super simple, 2 moves a day and very effective. They take so very little time, exactly what I need. Hope you find soemthing that works for you.

Aimee, I understand! I sit down how many times a day to either feed Kaylie in her highchair or nurse her, feed Morgan at least 3, if not 4 bottles a day, plus feed myself…..and read to Kaylie…..they say breastfeeding moms drop the pounds quicker than formula-feeding moms, but they do just the same sitting or more so, so how does that help?!
I HAVE been controlling how much I’m eating and what types of food, this week, and am amazed at how little I feel hunger pains in between. I guess it’s all about self-control. I’ve been able to get out with the girls several times in the last week, and pushing a double stroller will work up some muscles in a heartbeat, I bet! I just read that walking in dirt versus pavement is better for you. I often push the girls down the private drive across from us, to stay away from the constant traffic on our road. It’s dirt! =] I’m hoping with the walking, controlled eating, and hopefully some crunches worked in, I’ll be able to see a difference soon!
Best wishes and prayers sent your way for your success!
