Goal Changes

On Monday invariably my goals change every few hours or so.

This morning I anticiipated hiring some help in getting some exta cleaning done (my first goal, as my husband thought I needed some help.) My “maid” couldn’t come till 10:00. (Some Mondays I decide to forget school and just focus on getting the house back in shape and then if we have time do some before supper.) This was fine I thought, now we can get some school in before that.

About nine thirty and I decide that school can just go on longer because I am too tired to tackle the house yet (it’s pyscially and emotionally easier to sit on the couch and listen to word lists and reading).

Then I decide that I’m too tired to have her here ( because I need to supervise the little ones to do some clean-up before she can mop the floor and I’m not up to that nor are they after doing school and lots of chores already) So that goal changes. Might as well get lots of school done today.

Pretty soon I realize that yesterday was REALLY tiring on me and my goal now changes to find a way to manage a quiet rest time . . . .

At times some the younger ones can’t stay awake till nap time and mondays are often that day . . . So I decide that an early lunch might be in store and I don’t let the baby sleep as long so that just maybe we all can rest together.

And so the day goes on . . .

“Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning:

For in Thee do I trust:

Cause me to know the  way wherein I should walk;

For I lift up my soul unto Thee.”  Psalm 143:8

    oh, I smiled over this! I can so relate to Monday goal changes! I think I’m learning not to write down too much stuff in my planner for Monday, and even if I write down just ONE thing, not to let it bug me if it doesn’t get done… :-) Loved the pic of you and giggling boys!

    F-u-n-n-y. That’s how my days go sometimes. I have been SO tired lately, I do not know what the deal is. I am not pg yet either, so I can’t chalk it up to that.

    I have often wishes we could just skip Mondays and have an extra day added at the end of the week. Church is hard on little people! Anna is always extra sleepy and extra cranky on Mondays.
