A Daughter is a Precious Thing
Sunday, March 4th, 2007Today is Loraine’s third birthday!
I thank the Lord for three years of daughter-sweetness with Loraine! One never knows how long our loved ones have to here on earth . . . So I treasure the moments . . .
“She is more precious than rubies . . .” Proverbs 3:15a
The best gifts aren’t tangible and are given every day . . . .Like love and shining eyes, like smiles and laughter, like hugs and tears, like rain and rainbows, like pleasant words and encouragement, like hard times and stepping stones . . .
Everything from God is a blessing . . . . we just got to look at them like He does. God isn’t primarily concerned about our comfort . . . He’s concerned about our heart!!! . . .And for that I am deeply grateful!!!
I pray for my daughter not that she would have an easy life and much happiness and comforts, but that she would seek the Lord with all her heart and soul and strength and be sold out in serving Our Lord and Master! I pray that she would have “stepping stones” to help mold her into the character of Jesus and that through her Jesus would SHINE through.
“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:7-11
“We will rejoice in thy salvation and in the name of our God we will set up our banners . . .” Psalm 21:5a
