Family Time, Building Bonds

Japheth took a week off work. Hallelujah!!!

First we went camping.

Now for the past seven years when it comes to swimming, I have been acutely aware of the fact that I was spoiled in VA having a nice clean pool without fish swimming about biting you, without the occasional blood sucker, without weeds growing in the water ( that scare one so), and without having to swim in cold water. I admit it. I was spoiled. I still have a hard time getting over it. But none the less my husband pulls me out and makes me go farther and stay longer than I like in these kind of conditions, although I try to stay by the shore and “take care of the babies” sitting in my lawn chair in the water. Now I know times have changed . . . I used to be a lot more adventuresome than this . . . but hey, I’m a mom now . . . I don’t particularly want or look for adventure, I just want some relaxation time.

Japheth and Jeremiah got to have airplane rides with Dale in his two seater. It was a bean auction thing.

This week also held a great accomplishment for Jeremiah. He is now riding bike with no training wheels! Yippee!!!

And today we hit a few garage sales and the wood carvers festival.

But of course the best part is just being together and doing things together as a family!!!

Oh, I just love weeks like that!!! You definitely don’t have to go far away to have a good vacation. We’ve done several “vacations-at-home” (i.e. not going far away) and we LOVE them. After all, as you say, the best part is just being together. :-) So glad you had a good one!

I MISS fresh water lakes, especially Ghost Lake in Dryden. I hope my children have a chance to do it sometime. I’m glad you had a great week. Nothing like just family.

I’m sure you’re treasuring every moment! It’s always so hard for me to see Michael go back to work after we’ve had more time together. How are you feeling with your pregnancy these days?

That looks like a wonderful time!

Looks like a great way to take a vacation, especially not having to take children on long car trips. Unfortunately, we have to leave the area to get a vacation, because otherwise John will continue to be hounded by people. Kinda sad, because we also have lots of lakes and great camping places around here. :-) I seem to remember that you have hosted exchange students in the past, but am not sure if I’m recalling that correctly. If you have any words of wisdom, I would appreciate them as we’re a girl from Brazil come in the next two weeks and we’re so excited and scared about it at the same time. I think we may be hosting all the exchange students from this area over Thanksgiving, too, so that should be interesting.

We leave this Friday for a ten day vacation! I’m so excited! It will be the last one for a while, because Vern starts school the day after we get home. Plus, Vern says we’re not traveling to VA for Christmas and asking for an early baby to happen. I was 12 days early with Kaylie, right after a weekend of 5 hours riding in two days’ time. Even if she did take 2 1/2 days to come.

So glad y’all enjoyed your time together!
