Family 2007

Blessings on the new year! – Japheth & Aimee

"Now may the God of hope fill you, with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." – Romans 15:13

"Little Miss Pink Pajamas" and Misc.

Friday, December 21st, 2007

This week Lynne we have attached a new nickname to our little girlie, although she already has one (Missy Lou). She is now affectionately being called (and it first came off the lips of her Papa dear) . . . “Little Miss Pink Pajamas” :)

I don’t know many lullabies if any really except this one I learned from a friend and neighbor and if I remember correctly she made it up. I love to and often sing this to my babies.

“I love little babies, Jesus made made them sweet!

I love little babies, I love to tickle their feet!

I love little babies,They burp and giggle and coo!

I love little babies

and – I – LOVE – YOU!!!

Japheth has our family picture (from over a year ago) displayed in his store. One can see it as soon as you step inside the door. This, of course, brings about some various responses! . . . But lately there’s been a new note added to it. The conversation goes something like this.

Customer – Are they ALL YOURS?!?

Japheth – No.

Customer – (Trying to figure this out) Well . . . .

Japheth – (Pulling out a picture of him holding Lynne) Here’s the latest one . . . Another girl!

Customer – (Gulp! Eyes bug out . . .)
It was wonderfully nice having help after Lynne was born, but it is wonderfully nice to be on my “own” again! One might think that with a maid around your household could run soooo smoothly and everything could stay in top shape, being sparkling and clean . . . hmmm . . . well, we still had lively, real children . . . thus it just wasn’t the horrible chaos and hopeless feeling wondering if life will EVER get any better. It was relaxing and restful, but still none the less, real life with six children six and under and another VERY helpful set of hands! But we are doing fine and dandy now . . . and can’t wait for next week when we get EIGHT FULL DAYS with Papa!!!

“Oh, the Lord’s been good to me!!!!

And so I thank the Lord for giving me the things I need . . .

Hallelujah, Amen!” (Know the Johny apple seed prayer song?)

Celebrating Christ

” I HAVE COME

that they might have life,

and that they might have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10b

If you’ve never been :) here :) please go there . . . This was part of her writings today . . .

“How might I experience, embrace, enjoy You today, Father? Is that You calling me to celebrate Christmas with prayers in the firelight, walks through the woods, songs in twilight? Cookies to homeless, bread to neighbors, giving to the least of these… and enjoying the warmth of Your smile.

Today I enjoy celebrating You, the Christ of Christmas….”

My Necklace

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Ok, so I’m going to start going around the house with a big “necklace” decorated with a red pen, a long glue stick and a whistle. The pen is to score the boys school work, the glue stick is to “remind” little people what they are to be doing or NOT doing, and sometimes I need the whistle to get everyone’s attention without yelling, and I need these things where ever I’m at and with me at all times . . . This is life right now . . . Some day I will reap what I have sown . . . I long to reap a good harvest . . . so I keep at it . . . Seeing families either good or bad harvest spurs me on . . .

“Let not mercy and truth forsake you;

Bind them about thy neck,

Write them upon the tablet of your heart.

And so find favor and high esteem with God and man.”   – Proverbs 3:3,4

Friends

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

We went out for breakfast,

My friend and I,

Leaving children and husband behind,

(To see what they could find . . .)

Getting up in the wee hours of day

Were we crazy or what?

No, just trying not to get that way . . .

It helps . . . friends do care,

Our joys and sorrows they share . . . .

I am blessed!!!

W-u? or W-me?

Toddlers are so funny at times!!!

My sister-in-law sent me this email yesterday . . . .

I think it was a couple weeks ago that Mom was reading the ABC book with Wayne.  She would say a letter and have him repeat it after her.  All went well until they got to "w".  Mother slowly sounded it out: "Double-you".  Wayne, with equal solemnity, replied, "Double-me".  Thinking he had not understood, Mother repeated it, emphasizing the "YOU" part.  He repeated it, emphasizing the "ME" part.  It was so funny!  His little sober face indicated a real determination to do this thing right.  He wasn’t trying to be contrary, but was actually making a rather astounding connection between "you" and "me"!

My Gingerbread House

Friday, December 7th, 2007

I never have really been too fond of the color brown . . . but I live in a brown house . . . and so I, like Pollyanna play the “glad game” . . . and have come to love my brown house. I call it my gingerbread house in the winter, all capped and decorated with snow and icicles. In the summer it DOES make a beautiful background for holly hocks and roses and any kind of flower that I can get to grow there :)
