The Sweetness of God!
Monday, February 18th, 2008Ah . . . babies are so sweet, especially between 3 and 9 months . . . and this is God’s creation, His handiwork! . . . and we are His. He has called us by our names . . .
"But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, _______
And He who formed you. ____________
Fear not; For I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name. You are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God. The Holy One of Israel, your Savior
. . . since you were precious in My sight. You have been honored.
And I have loved you . . ." – Isaiah 43:1-4a
Restless Heart
Saturday, February 16th, 2008Dear restless heart, be still. Don’t fret and worry so.
God has a thousand ways His love and help to show.
Just trust and trust and trust, until His will you know.
Dear restless heart, be still, for peace is God’s own smile.
His love can every wrong and sorrow reconcile.
Just love and love and love and calmly wait awhile.
Dear restless heart, be brave. Don’t moan and sorrow so.
He has a meaning kind in chilly winds that blow.
Just hope and hope and hope until you braver grow.
Dear restless heart, recline upon His breast this hour.
His grace is strength and life: His love is bloom and flower.
Just rest and rest and rest within His tender power.
Dear restless heart, be still. Don’t struggle to be free.
God’s life is in your life; from Him you may not flee.
Just pray and pray and pray, till you have faith to see.

Three Month Old Cousins
Friday, February 15th, 2008Croutons
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008I finally am making my own croutons; I’ve wanted too for awhile but didn’t have a recipe and wasn’t very creative enough to just make one up so . . . when we were at Delvin’s, Lily had some homemade ones there that were very good. And now I have my very first batch in the oven.
1 and 1\2 lb loaf of bread cubed. Oven dry at 250 for 1 hour. Cool.
Melt butter and oil together. Stir in other ingredients. Pour over cubs, stir well. Bake at 250 degrees for 45min. – 1 hr. Cool. Be creative, add or subtract as you like!
1\2 cup veg. oil
3\4 cup butter
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp dill weed
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1\4 cup Parmesan cheese
A Warm Weekend
Monday, February 11th, 2008Even though our church was called off because of the cold weather we still managed to travel across the country and have a wonderful warm weekend with friends! . . . warm hospitality, warm hearts, lots of laughter and children and love. The close quarters really wasn’t all that bad . . . I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
