I’ve started packing . . . for eight people . . .

Wow, that’s alot of things to remember and keep straight and organized! You must be going on a trip… I remember you saying awhile ago that you were planning to go on one. Hope all goes well before, during, and after! (I say after because I know what it’s like to come home with the inside of the vehicle and duffle bags being a big ’salad’ (or maybe you stay organized throughout the trip) and the mountains of laundry). Ah, but it always does the soul good to get away for awhile.
Have fun!

I am not very organized . . . . Yes, we make big “salads”
I like that term for it.
We will be gone for a month. It all started at our Valentines Banquet over a year and several months ago. I didn’t think it would ever be possible for us to be gone this long . . . but the Lord does work wonders!!! We will spend most of the time in VA with my family and catching up with people there, but also take our time going in and coming out (from MN), visiting Japheth’s friends and relatives in PA, and even spending a few days at his Grandfather’s cabin in the mountains ( now his uncles) where we spent part of our honeymoon. Anyway, it is a special trip!
Yes, it does good for the soul to get away! . . . and it is sweet to come home after wandering around the countryside.

oh oh oh!!! Have a wonderful time in VA. I am almost–no, I really AM, a bit jealous!
Safe travelling, happy times, and special best wishes for patience and longsuffering for mommy when the ride gets long. Such a sweet pic of your girlies!

Have a good trip! I am always forgetting things for three people (unless I make detailed lists), so I can’t imagine packing for eight. Your trip sounds delightful, and I hope it’s more enjoyable than stressful!

have a great trip and don’t forget about us.
I have a Packing List saved on the computer and also a Before Leaving List. It is a little extensive, but I always print one out, then go through it while I’m packing… I can also pen in extra things on either list. It’s been a life saver more than once! (you probably do the same thing) Another thing I started doing is packing 2 days before leaving, then having a list of “last minute items” and then cleaning and taking a nap 1 day before leaving. Sometimes I don’t have the 2 day cushion to work with, but when I do, I never regret taking 2 days to get ready to go. Maybe you should give us your tips, since most of us don’t have 6 little children to pack and leave with.
I’m always ready for extra ideas.

maybe I should clarify also, that when we pack, I let the children help, so it’s not like it’s ME alone packing all day.
If I could do it all by myself, that would be a different story. lol

Aimee,
We would take a slot of your time if you have any!
Would love to see you again.
Hope you have a lovely trip.
