It is a little extensive, but I always print one out, then go through it while I'm packing... I can also pen in extra things on either list. It's been a life saver more than once! (you probably do the same thing) Another thing I started doing is packing 2 days before leaving, then having a list of "last minute items" and then cleaning and taking a nap 1 day before leaving. Sometimes I don't have the 2 day cushion to work with, but when I do, I never regret taking 2 days to get ready to go. Yes, we make big "salads" :) I like that term for it. :) We will be gone for a month. It all started at our Valentines Banquet over a year and several months ago. I didn't think it would ever be possible for us to be gone this long . . . but the Lord does work wonders!!! We will spend most of the time in VA with my family and catching up with people there, but also take our time going in and coming out (from MN), visiting Japheth's friends and relatives in PA, and even spending a few days at his Grandfather's cabin in the mountains ( now his uncles) where we spent part of our honeymoon. Anyway, it is a special trip! Yes, it does good for the soul to get away! . . . and it is sweet to come home after wandering around the countryside. I am not very organized . . . . Yes, we make big “salads” :) I like that term for it. :)
