Victory – Our Faith!
Friday, October 31st, 2008“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory
That has overcome the world –
Our faith.”

And loving it . . . and Lord willing many more before the Lord calls one or both of us home . . . There’s something so beautiful of an aged, white-haired couple still walking hand-n-hand after many, many years . . . Keeping their promise . . . and loving it . . .
“This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” Psa 118:23
What is He to you? . . .
Yesterday, I was reading the My Jesus list (things that He is to me) from “Prayer Portions” and this one is one I’d never thought of before, Fourth Man in my furnace . . .
So whether you are getting too much of sisterly love and just want mama to please rescue you from her clutches,
or whether you are tired of potty training
or tired of picking up things that “miraculously” appear on the floor and places they are not meant to be . . . God is with you . . . He’s the Fourth Man in your “furnace”
“Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose,
walking in the midst of the fire;
And they are not hurt,
And the form of the fourth is like
the Son of God.” – Daniel 3:25
In thinking of revival . . . There’s a song that goes like this “Separate me from what separates us . . .”
“Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.”
“He found him (me) in a desert land, (feeling alone and in despair)
And in the wasteland, (a Monday morning mess or any day for that matter . . . ) ,
A howling wilderness; (I feel like I can NEVER achieve – be the parent that meets up to my expectations and the expectations of others . . . a howling wilderness . . . yeah)
He encircled him (me), He instructed him, (me)
He kept him (me) as the apple of His eye,
As an eagle stirs up its nest,
Hovers over its young,
Spreading out it’s wings, taking them up,
Carrying them up on it’s wings,
So the Lord alone led him (me) ( . . . He’s mothering me . . .)
. . . He made him (me) draw honey from the rock . . .
With the choicest wheat,
And you (I)drank wine, the blood of the grapes . . .”
O Lord, You are my comfort and my joy . .
My Strength and My Song . . .
Thank-You for loving me and caring for me . . . and I as a little child can come to You . . .
and You will gather me up in Your arms, in a loving embrace and just hold me . . .
when my heart is hurts and is weary,
You O God, are my Refuge . . .
BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER
By Maya Angelou
‘A woman’s heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.’
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not shouting ‘I’m clean livin”
I’m whispering ‘I was lost, Now I’m found and forgiven.’
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not trying to be strong..
I’m professing that I’m weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say.. ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say … ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not holier than thou,
I’m just a simple sinner Who received God’s good grace, somehow!
I know these aren’t very close up . . . but I thought that they looked rather boyish . . .
A bit toothless, you see . . .

“Oh, Lord . . . guide us . . .guide them . . .”
“. . . That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth”
Today’s venture involved a drive . . . beautiful beyond words . . . of course we had to stop several times along side the road . . . but, hey, we we’re in a hurry . . . that’s the most fun . . . taking time to “stop and smell the roses”
“Oh, Lord, my God . . .
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the world
Thy hands has made . . .
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul . . .
HOW GREAT THOU ART!!!”
Some of the last of my flowers . . .
How does one describe the delicate, velvety, soft texture of a petal . . .
How great Thou art . . . my God . . .
How great!
