My Little People
I just had to chuckle in my Bible reading the other morning . . .
“Blessed be the Lord my Rock
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle.
My Lovingkindness,
And My
Fortress,
My High Tower,
And My Deliverer,
My Shield,
An the One in whom I take refuge,
Who SUBDUES my people
under me . . . ” – Psalm 144:1-2
Ok, me being a mom I think of “training my hands for war and my fingers for
battle” as knowing when to administer discipline, when to not to, when to snap
little fingers, when to overlook those chubby little hands that are creating
chaos . . .
He’s my Fortress, the place I go to kneel in prayer, My High Tower
- the place I run to for help to see the bigger picture than only this day
before me, etc . . . .
And then I come to this phrase “who subdues my people
under me”, Yes, God, please, It would be so much easier to be the loving, kind
mother that you expect if my little people were a bit more subdued . . . I just
had to laugh
. . .

I share the chuckle! I love the way you used those verses to apply them to being a mom!

Hi Aimee,
It’s been awhile since I stopped in for a “visit”. I too had to chuckle at this…it certainly WOULD be easier to have a more subdued child (and one in the womb too–he’s been such a kicker!) but God knows I need these wee ones to further sanctify me!
Your recent snapshots of the trees were gorgeous! The leaves are just starting to change here in the east.
Take care, “Cousin” Krista
