Recently . . .

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Recently Japheth and I listened to the cd’s of “Affabel” by John Bevere. It is an allegory of life on earth and The Judgment in Heaven.

There’s five students of Sagous ( the Holy Spirit) named Independent, Deceived, Faintheart, Selfish, and Charity.  The story follows them through life a bit here and there and then they are taken to Judgment where King Jalin calls each one before him, for the “account” which we all are going to give of each action we do and each thought and motive of our hearts . . . It just gave me such a picture, a glimpse (although we will never know exactly what it will be like till then) of that Day. . .  I had to bow my head and pray and cleanse my heart again . . .  There’s no way, I want to have my sins “follow after” . . . It is truly moving . . . It’s a reviver . . . It’s something I wish I could hand out to everyone . . .

Rest in the Lord!

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Ya know how some days go . . . Ya just don’t seem to be motivated at all or get anything done . . . Yet, I’ve often realized that “rest” is  (at least in times of my life where I need lots of rest) a prelude to getting alot done . . . hmmm . . .

So in a bigger scale, pregnancy seems to be the same way . . . lots of long, tiring, seemingly unproductive days that stretch into long tiring, seeminly unproductive months, with aches and pains and hippo status . . .  yet in the end, you gain,  Lord willing, you are crowned with a son or a daugher to grace our days and years . . .

These past few days the children and I have been learning some new songs.  We’re going through the book (and tape) “Little Ones Praise” that the children got through Sunday School.

Our church has a neat incentive program for memorizing Scripture.  Each verse can “buy” a ticket, and each ticket can be redeemed for a prize . . . So the boys have been saving and last Sunday they came home with a long saved for pitch pipe and this song book with a tape and some Styrofoam airplanes :) .

We are enjoying these songs . . . and practicing for when we are to have “Special” music at church . . .  No, we are’t anything special, far from it, but our song leader has everybody involved sometime throughout this year.

Anyway, all that to say that one of the songs comes from Psalm 65.  “He crowneth the year with His goodness;  the little hills rejoice . . . They shout for joy, they also sing, they shout for joy and they sing.

And all that to say, I have to remind myself often, that this season is a “rest” season though many times it seems anything but restful . . .  I have to remind myself to REST in the Lord . . .

I love this song called,”  Fret not”

“Commit thy way unto the Lord, all you need He will afford

Never fret nor be oppressed,

Commit and trust, delight and rest . . .

Fret not, He’s watching over you,

Fret not, the Lord will see you though,

Fret not, you’re sure to stand the test.

Commit and trust, delight and rest.

God’s Wonderful Love!!!

Friday, February 13th, 2009

These words come from a free ecard on DaySpring (I often use their cards), and I was just thrilled with the words and message and sent it to a few of my single friends . . . But I love the message too.  It’s for any child of God . . . and it’s for you . . .

A Valentine may play a love song for you,

But God sings you the sweetest love song in the universe.

The Lord your God . . . will rejoice over you with gladness

He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zeph 3:17

A Valentine may give you flowers,

But God sent you the most beautiful rose of all. Jesus.

“I am the rose of Sharon,

and the lily of the valleys.” Song of Solomom 2:1

A Valentine may take you out to dinner,

But God has invited you to the most amazing feast ever given.

“Blessed are those who are called

to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” Rev. 19.9

A Valentine may bring you chocolate,

But God provides you with something even sweeter, His Word.

“How sweet are your words to my taste,

Sweeter then honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103

A Valentine may be far away,

But God is always with you.

“I am with you always.” Matt. 28:20

A Valentine may give you something

But God has given you everything.

“God . . . gives us richly all things to enjoy.” - I Tim. 6:17

A Valentine may love you for a lifetime,

But God loved you before you were born and will love you for all eternity!

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love . . .

with lovingkindness I have drawn you. – Jer. 31:3

Praying your blessed by the wonderful love of God this Valentines Day and always!

Clean-Up

Friday, February 6th, 2009

After seeing all the clean-up we need to do today, you’d think I’d never let it get that bad again . . . I think so too . . . Until I’m as tired as I was yesterday . . . And then it happens again . . . I think there was a tornado in almost every room!!!

“Yet will I rejoice . . .”

I’m not as tired as yesterday and I’m seeing progress although school has to go on the back burner right now . . .  I think we need a few more Saturdays in a week! :)
