They Came From Babies
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009–Irving D. Larson
This post today comes to you because I am waiting for my Honey to come home and am too tired to tackle the mess in the kitchen . . .

Today we shelled the first of our peas . . . I think this pic is after I called them in . . . I stepped outside to find the children shelling peas in the doghouse of all places!!!

I know this is kinda late, but Japheth turned eight the first of this month . . . Strawberry pie . . .

And for those of you who don’t live around here, we’ve been driving this big white thing . . . Actually I love it! . . . Lots of space!!!

For a Father’s Day gift we wanted Japheth to be able to go golfing . . . So finally here we are . . . We didn’t necessarily plan to go along at first . . .

But here we all are . . . we did a first and rented two golf carts . . .

The children earned a nickel for each golf ball they found in the woods . . . They had a lot of fun looking
. . . and they each had a turn at moving the flag pole . . .

. . . and on to other things . . . Life ya know doesn’t consist of just fun things . . . there’s always laundry to do . . .
Looks like I need to give some lessons on hanging up the laundry . . .
I usually do it all myself cause I find it refreshing . . .

These are my peach poppies . . . Yeah, they almost look like a carnation don’t they?
This has been a tough week for me . . . weary and exhausted, trying to keep things under control (house work and children
) and just needing lots of rest and quiet . . .
And of course this had to be an extremely busy week for my husband ( he’s on the quilt show committee this year). Somehow when we’re both bus and tired at the same time it is tougher . . .
But God has poured out his tender loving care on me this week also . . . Three mornings in a row I’ve had a few hours to myself, of quiet reflection and rest. And yesterday I actually slept a bit in the mid-morning and also a bit in the afternoon . . . now this is miracle stuff for me because I usually can’t sleep during the day no matter how exhausted I am . . . Anyway, I just want to praise His name and say that He cares . . . He really does . . . He came to me “in person” these last few days and ministered to my needs . . .
No, God doesn’t always answer my prayers this way . . . but He’s the Lily in my Valley anyway . . . no matter what . . .
“I found a Lily in my valley – in my valley,
I found strength when I was worn- Oh, so worn
I found a place to leave my burden,
I found a refuge from the storm.
A place to trade my dark skies,
For beaming rays of sunshine – God’s sunshine
I found a Lily in my valley
And He blooms all the time . . .”
We’re about to embark on our camping weekend . . .
Excitement rides high . . .
Mama is pray’in about the poison ivy all around our campsite
and for a relaxing weekend (if that’s possible
for us adults) and especially for her most special friend in all the world, a refreshing time . . .
“Exceedingly, abundantly, all that we ask or think, that’s what our God can do . . .” This is runn’n through my head today . . .
Hope it involves no poison ivy!!! Can’t ya tell, I’m worried?!!?!?
