Waiting for my Honey . . .

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

This post today comes to you because I am waiting for my  Honey to come home and am too tired to tackle the mess in the kitchen . . .

pea-shellers

Today we shelled the first of our peas . . . I think this pic is after I called them in . . . I stepped outside to find the children shelling peas in the doghouse of all places!!!

8-years

I know this is kinda late, but Japheth turned eight the first of this month . . . Strawberry pie . . .

Ninty-nine more days to go . . . :) and baby’s giving mighty kicks!  Midwife comes today for a check-up. Yah!

Japheth just got in a long-arm quilting machine . . . can’t wait to try it out!!! :)   It’s for demo and to rent by the hour . . . Anyone interested?

Garden update.  Strawberries are blooming.  I’m eating  fresh lettuce and radish sandwhiches.  Nice cool weather to weed in. :)

Tomorrow I head out to spend a day with my husband.  We’re taking several ladies from the Quilt Guild to a quilt show in Duluth.  Looking forward to it!!!

Just Ramblings

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Ah, the blessings of being tired . . . a growing baby and alot of work caught up (if there is such a thing as that around here) . . . Now I think, we shall rest a bit . . . and I won’t let myself think about that this is just the beginning of the tired stage . . . Life is good, one day at a time . . . ya know tomorrow never comes . . . All we have  is today . . .

“May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble

May the name of the Lord defend you

May He send you help from the sanctuary

And strengthen you out of Zion.

May He remember . . . and accept . ..

May He grant you according to your hearts desire

And fulfill all your purpose

We will rejoice in your salvation

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners

May the Lord fulfill all your petitions

Now I know that the Lord saves His annointed

He will answer Him from His holy heaven

With the saving strength from HIs Holy heaven

With the saving strength of His right hand

Some trust in chariots and some in horses

BUT WE WILL REMEMBER THE NAME OF OUR GOD

They have bowed down and fallen

But we have risen and have stood upright

Save Lord!

May the King answer us when we call.” – Psalm 20

Tears . . .

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

You know that song, “Tears Are a Language God Understands”? . . . Well, He made them, and I’m sure glad He understands them cause I’m having a hard time even knowing what they mean myself and I’m the one weeping buckets :)   No, it’s something else today . . . Arggg! Well, maybe a touch of that in a bit different form . . . you know strands of spagetti all tangled up in one big mess, you pull one and it affects LOTS of others . . .

Wallwords and Faith

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

There’s something about faith that just . . . well, how do you describe it . . . . Anyway, I’m longing, longing for more faith . . . Here’s a few quotes I found this morning.  ( I found them on a neat website for wall words www.wallwords.com. An aquaintance\friend  though xanga also does them their site is www.legendarydesigns.com)  Japheth and I were talking this morning about putting some WallWords in our store, and someday in our house . . .

Faith is not believing that God can, It is knowing that God will.

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Faith is when you close your eyes and open your heart.

When you come to the end of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unkown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: there will be solid ground beneath you or you will be taught how to fly.

Walking by faith means putting one foot in front of the other– with both eyes on God.

Faith sees the Flower in every Seed.

A Homemaker

Monday, October 6th, 2008

One of the best things about being home alot is that you have time to do these kind of things  . . . (Ok, maybe I took the time, it wasn’t that easy to FIND :) , but is was fun to do somthing more creative than the norm . . .  I don’t usually even take the time to make bread . . .  Aunti has big intentions of teaching Little Japheth this winter to become our bread baker . . . we shall see . . . )

And today I got to smell the pork roast simmering in mushroom and onion soup all day . . . just another benefit to being at home . . .

Being there to greet my husband at the door . . . what could be better than that???

I love my occupation . . . a homemaker!

Seasons

I love’m . . . I love the changing seasons . . . and I’m always ready for the next one . . . Somehow the beginnings are the best in my book . . .

Happy Autumn to each one of you! (No, we haven’t had frost yet but it’s a coming)

Random School Thoughts

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

It felt good to start school today . . . It’s nice having a school room though it felt a bit full with five children and a teacher in there . . . Lynne napped quite a bit of the time . . .

Japheth is in second. Jeremiah – first, Loraine is learning how to read and starting math, Wayne is coloring and matching things and Jaden plays legos and wanders about and is in the long process of being potty trained.

Lynne’s school consists of learning to sit still during devotions, and story time, not bat at the book I’m reading, and having “blanket time” (Where she has to stay on the blanket and play with the one toy I give her, the goal being that she will stay put, whenever I put her on it)

And my job is to stay cool, calm and collected :) in the midst of a whirlwind of activities . . .

I’d appreciate your prayers . . . if you can take the time to remember me in that way . . .

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

“Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus ,what a wonder You are!

You are brighter than the morning star.

You’re fairer, much fairer, than the lily that grows by the wayside,

Precious,more precious than gold.”

Whenever I sing this song I think of my friend, Bonita. She taught it to me and I’ve had the privilege of passing it along  to others also.  I remember stopping by the meadows and roadsides in New York (it forever changed my image of New York, I guess I just always thought of New York City whenever New York  came to my mind . . . but it is a pretty state) on our way to Va one summer after school let out . . .

Our hearts have keepsakes of many memories . . .

We love our “lilies” by the wayside . . . in fact that’s one of the worst things about traveling . . . I can’t stop the vehicle and get out and pick a few or take a picture of or just stroll through them  . . .( Well, I probably would . . . maybe that’s why Japheth likes to do all the driving :)

Anyway just a reminder to me . . . do I act like He’s fairer than the lilies . . . brighter than the morning star . . . and more precious than gold . . .  Yes, what a WONDER HE IS!
